Digital Photography 101
This is an introductory photography course aimed at beginning to intermediate photographers. Course content will include:
- Camera basics; overview of how your camera works, basic controls such as aperture, shutter speed; how to care for your camera and lenses and clean your camera sensor; techniques to prevent "camera shake".
- Aperture and shutter priority modes, when and how to use them; how to control depth of field; various types of lenses; photo composition "rules" and tips.
- Manual mode; shooting panorama shots, the digital darkroom (using photo editing software); photo filters.
- Flash and indoor photography; night photography; macro photography techniques and equipment; how to market and sell your photography.
- Help with your camera: Get individual help with some of your camera setup and settings.
- Assignments: submit photos for some additional feedback.

The
format will be Wednesday evenings, 7-9 PM. At the end of the first session you will receive a "homework"
assignment to take photos and practice specific skills. You will
receive feedback on your homework assignment to help improve.
Prerequisite: You must own a camera (film or digital), preferably a camera that has some manual settings, so you will be able to learn how to set your own shutter speed, aperture, etc.
