My first "serious" camera was a used Minolta SLR and a zoom lens that I received as a teenager.  I enjoyed that camera for many years until it finally was dropped and malfunctioned.

Although I took a camera course in university my interest in photography waned for several years until the advent of digital photography.  My first digital camera was an early Kodak "point and shoot" that had poor quality (by today's standards), ate up battery power like a Hummer drinks gasoline, and took forever to save pictures to disc!  I found the technology fascinating but a little frustrating.  I have continued to upgrade cameras as the technology progressed.  I currently shoot with a Canon EOS 350D, and a variety of lenses.

I live with my family in Vernon, British Columbia, in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, known for orchards, lakes, vineyards, mountains and incredible scenery.   Many thanks to my family (especially my parents) for supporting my photography "habit" over the years!
